blasting versus power sanding

May 22nd, 2008 03:45:13 pm, posted by Lee Rankin

hey if you are just wantinting to remove paint I would suggest soda blasting it won't heat up and distort the metal plus it won't harm trim or glass if you have rust you want to get rid of they have soda that is mixed with another media to make it more abrasive. soda blasting will be faster than power sanding plus sanding will remove metal as well as heat it up  it will lead to more prep work when you go back to re paint. another good thing about soda if the residue is left on it will prevent flash rusting for a short time. if you want to blast it yourself the Eastwood Co. now sells soda blasting equitment
