Spoiler Weight

1989 Sterling 827SLI
November 10th, 2010 11:10:56 am, posted by Arthur J Spong

I removed the spoiler on this auto as part of my preparation process for repainting. It weighed 15 lbs which I thought was a lot.
I have been considering leaving it off altogether or trying to find a lighter replacement.
Then I thought may be it was heavy for a specific stability reason, even though I don't think it was taken into account when counter balancing the hatchback trunk lid which does stay up when opened with it on.

Any information you have about this vehicle/situation would really be appreciated.

Thanks,
