The Best Ride Contest is in full swing! The 2008 Best Ride Contest is closed and voting has opened. Click here to go to the candidates and to vote for your favorite ride. Remember to read the stories! Click each car and read the caption, then vote! Also, only one vote per IP address (per computer) is counted. So if you want to win, get everybody you know to vote for your car...actually I guess they should vote for their favorites. So, get everybody that likes your car to vote for you. You do not have to be a member, just have an email address! VOTE NOW! Voting will end March 31st.

Spring Cleaning
It’s that time of the year again, time for some spring cleaning. This is where I ask all of you, the members, to log in to your account and update anything that applies to you. I would like to ask all of you to log in to your account and do the following:
1) My Profile – Update your email address, your street address, your phone number, password and/or name. Although I don’t know why you would need to update your name…unless you got married…or divorced…or broke in to show business and are just going by one name now…mine will be Diego.
2) My Journals – If you are tracking a project and have new pics, select the [Edit] link next to the Journal and then the [Add New Entry to this Journal] towards the bottom. From there you can add updated pics. I want to see the mess ups too, like the time I burnt off my brothers eyebrows when the Cyclone backfired…wish I had a camera.
3) My Parts and My Cars – If you sold your car or parts, then select [Edit this Part] or [Edit this Car] and change the status to SOLD. Don’t forget to click the update button at the bottom of your ad and always…I mean always, check the brake light fluid every 20,000 miles.
4) My Events – If anything changed with regards to your event listing, then update it here. You do not want people showing up on Friday when you changed the day to Saturday, then you will have some angry people. They’ll start throwing things, burning things down, running amuck, returning VHS tapes un-rewound, go down the up escalator, tearing tags off mattresses…it would be complete anarchy. Trust me, I’ve seen it 1000 times ;-)
5) My Car Clubs – If you have a Car Club listed and need to update the contact info, or the fees, or the number of members you have, you can do that here.
6) My Expertise – This is a very important part of the site. Please update what make of car you know the most about. The reason is, if someone asks a question that falls under your expertise, the site will email you and ask for an answer. Then you log on and help out the community. Remember, ask not what your community can do for you, ask what you can do for your community!
7) Explore the other links once you are logged in. There are a lot of services available for you to get that project done in the backyard.

Coming Soon
April will be another active month for the community. Marketing plans include more commercials and more sponsorship of events. So, if you have a car you want to sell, post it. If you were planning on cleaning out the closet full of parts, clean it out. If you were planning to advertise your product or service on the site, submit it now (follow the ‘My Services’ link when logged in). If you want more enthusiasts to attend your event, post it. If you want people to join your club, post it. If you want answers, ask them. If you have answers, share them. If you want a throne of gold, can’t help you there.
