Apologies and Updates
First I would like to apologize again for not sending out a newsletter last week. I was up to my neck with work and any spare time that I had, I was trying to update/test the site. So, here are a few updates. The Events Calendar is firing on all cylinders (pun intended). This is one of the busiest sections of the site. So, if you have an event or are looking for an event, make sure you check it out.
Also, my newsletters are on the site now! They are located under the News & Newsletter tab in the right column. Once you click on the News Tab, the “Under the Hood” News Letters are archived by month. Select the month that you need and then click on the link to that Newsletter. Also, when I read cool articles, I will post them there. That’s another part of the site that was updated. More news about our industry!
Finally, the Car Club directory is almost completed. It will look like the Events page and will be organized in the same manner. Just click on your state, then click on the car make of the club you are looking and voila…viola…voilla… ….there you have it. All the clubs that are active in your state!
And in the future, we will be updating the Services section to include an easier way to submit your product or service and a rating system for that service. For example, currently you will find Midwest Car Insurance on the site, and for all those that insure their cars with them, they can logon and post a vote for Midwest’s excellence and then leave a great comment. My goal here is create a ranking system for all the product/services in your town. I get many emails asking “if I know a good body shop in Wichita?” Or “who can rebuild my engine in Tulsa?” With this system, members will be able to log on and read feedback from fellow members about the shop down the street!
Hey Robbin, I got your email and will be contacting you shortly. Thanks!
Members Questions
I have been trying to answer all of the member’s questions under the Q&A part of the site. But, I can’t get to them all. So, if you know the answer to the following questions, please log on and help a fellow member out. Thanks.
1) When I turn the key on, the cooldown fan comes on and I am unable to start. Once the fan shuts off, the check engine light comes on and I am able to start car. While the fan is running car, the continues to just crank over but never catches?
2) I would like to know the cylinder head torque on 217cu.in. engine?
3) Does anyone have any info on what kind of car I really own. I acquired a 1970 Pontiac Lemans Sport 2-door hardtop a few years back. I would like to have a few things done to it, but I don't want to do anything that may hurt the value of the car. I can't seem to find any good info on-line. I've also noticed that there are not any photos either. Most photos I have seen are usually of the 1970 GTO and are always brown.
4) I am going to remove the paint down to bare metal as part of my restoration project. I am debating on bead blasting versus power sanding. Looking for comments and/or recommendations?
Click on the question if you know the answer, and logon.
There are several other questions that need to be answered, so please logon and help out!
