IT WORKS!
A few newsletters ago I announced a few updates to the site, one of which was the addition of the "Premium Ad." This ad allows you to upload 20 pictures of the car/part that you wish to sell AND if you provide me with 4 phrases (of 3 words or more) your advertisement will be posted on the first page of Google. Here's proof that it works!
I had a spare Cutlass console sitting in my garage which I used to test the new Premium Ad. I posted 6 more pictures, entered my 4 phrases and put it on Google. I used the phrases 1970 Cutlass Console, 1971 Cutlass Console, 1972 Cutlass Console and 442 Cutlass Console. Thus began the campaign to sell my console. I did not put it on any other site, not on ebay, not on craigslist, nowhere, just my site. I received a phone call yesterday from Willy in PA and he purchased my console. I asked where he saw the ad and he mentioned it was at the bottom of the ebay search. I didn't even know that! I listed the part February 21st and it was shown 5,400 times and clicked through to the ad 40 times. These were specific customers looking specifically for my part! So, in two months with a total of $10 spent, I sold my part. Compare that with the high fees on eBay, which you have to post the ad every 7-9 days. Compare that with Hemmings at $10 a month minimum, no pictures and you are buried in a book of hundreds of pages. Compare that with any other site out there...I dare you! I triple dog dare you!
Here is how to list your car/part:
1) Log in to your account. No account? Then create one, it's free!
2) Click either the "My Cars" or "My Parts" link in the action box.
3) Click either "Add New Car" or "Add New Part" link.
4) Fill out the top "Free Advertisement" section if you only want to post the ad on my site. Fill out the top "Free Advertisement" and the bottom "Premium Advertisement" to post your ad with 20 pictures and on the first page of Google. Click the "Add and Pay" button at the bottom.
5) You will now be bridged to Paypal.
*NOTE: I purposely used Paypal so that you can feel secure with providing you credit card information. At no time, will Classic Car Community obtain your personal credit card information.*
6) Follow the Paypal payment steps and you are done.
As soon as I receive payment, your ad will be posted immediately.
As always, I want your feedback. If you run in to any problems or have any concerns please send me an email (for an immediate response) or call 480-455-6366.
Thank you and I promise I will be more funny next week!

2009 Best Ride Contest Winner

This years competition was fierce and for the first time a foreign make takes the cake. Say that five times fast...foreign make takes the cake...foreigh made takes the cake...I can't even type it.
Without further ado, the 2009 Best Ride Contest Winner is Mike Guido from Palm Bay, Florida with his 1962 Mini Cooper. This isn't your same old run of the mill mini, Mike custom made the wheel flares, trunk lid and air scoops. Dubbed the "Minissan" this mini has a nitrous injected 80's Nissan 300Z V6 engine which "throws you back into the seat in every gear!"
Thanks Mike for entering your cool little ride, which goes to show you that the following for these mini's is enormous!
To all the grinchs out there that are upset about a foreign car winning the contest, visit Mike's website and learn more about what he does for our kids! www.godsavetheclown.com or www.worldsfastestclown.com
Thanks again Mike!
