Beetles, Buses, Thing’s, Ghia’s, Trike’s, Rabbit’s, Buggies, Wagon’s, New Beetle’s & whatever other air cooled or water cooled concoction you can think of, either being Volkswagen Powered or Bodied will come together as GROOVE (General Registry of Ozarks Volkswagen Enthusiasts) sponsors its 21st Annual June Bug Jamboree on June 12-13, 2015.
This is the second year the Jamboree will be located on the shady grounds of Springfield’s Route 66 KOA Campground, 5775 West Farm Road 140 Springfield, MO 65802 (just south of I-44 at Exit 70) (for camping reservations www.route66koa.com or call 417-831-3645).
The GROOVE June Bug Jamboree has become a summer staple for area VW owners and enthusiasts. The theme for 2015 is “Super Fun Twenty-one” which includes a Volkswagen car show, camping, entertainment, vendors, competitions and car corral.
The Giggle Box Project, a local non-profit, will be on site with the Giggle Bus doing face painting, making balloon animals and spreading happiness. Their mission is to spread the healing power of laughter to children in hospitals. More information about their organization is available at www.giggleboxes.org. Charitable donations will benefit Giggleboxes.
The car show will be divided into 24 classes with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each class. A non-judged class is available. There will also be specialty awards. All entries must be Volkswagen powered or bodied.
Friday evening after registration, the house band from the School of Rock will be entertaining us and the campers.
Admission to the event is free. Entries to competitions, camping, car corral and car show require nominal registration fees. Registration forms & more information about the show is available at our website.
