| 2nd Annual Celebration of the Automobile Car Show & Racers Reunion, Hosted by The Historic Speedway Group. Event sponsored by BB&T, The House Doctor,The Shops at Daniel Boone & Burger King of Hillsborough. Proceeds from this event will be used for the continued Restorations & Preservation of the Occoneechee-Orange Speedway. The Occoneechee-Orange Speedwat is one of only 3 Speedways on the National Historic Register along with the Bonneville Salt Flats on the Indianapolis Speedway. Please help us in our efforts to Save the Speedway! - Scheduled events included an OPEN CAR SHOW, bring your Classic, Antique, Muscle, Street Rod,Modified, Low rRider, Pick Up, Import, Motorcycle, Custom Designed, Special Interest Vwhicles, Race Cars. Local Race Cars & Drivers, Meet and greet many of Nascar & Racing legends - COTTON OWENS, DAVID PEARSON, REX WHITE, MARVIN PANCH, PAUL LEWIS, GENE HOBBY & Many Many more. Come see a very large Vintage Race Car display and many exhibits including the Dukes of Hazzard Stunt Team, Free Kids Rides, 50/50 Drawings, Local School Bands, Live Auction featuring Racing Memoribilia, Live Beach Music by The CASTAWAYS. Don't miss the Historic Event!. Last Years 1st Annual event drew over 40,000 spectators, over 425 Cars entered, and a large turnout of Drivers and Race Cars. Our 2008 2nd annual show has been called The Area's Largest Car Show & Event! - Best of all it's all FREE TO THE PUBLIC!, free PUBLIC TRANSPORATIONS will be provided by OPT, Just Park & Ride, Plenty of Free Parking at specified locations throughout Historic Hillsborough.
