I am new to Classic car restoration. I am looking into the very first thing I need to asses to get started on this project. the car has 170,000 orig. miles on its Rocket 350 w/ newly mated Bowler trans. Aside from the obvious (Motor replacement, Interior re-work, dashboard gauges, and q-panel re-sheet, I am interested to know what an expert would tell me to look at first, to begin. The vehicle has never been in an accident, it is a Florida car.. only small rust pot marks on lower q-panel. The mildewed interior is in need of replacement, all the way to carpets. The main issue that was described when transferred over to me, was the idle and carburation , once the engine warmed, it would low idle and choke out. So maybe that is the starting point. If anyone has an interest in helping with suggestions, I\'m all ears(eyes as it were).
