IFS1953 Ford F100 |

I am installing a front suspension system from Full Tilt street rods, on my 53 Ford F100. I am having a proplem getting the coil spring to seat in the lower control arm. I put the spindle in first, and just started the nuts. Then I put the spring in and a put a jack under the lower control arm. Jacked it up some, the spring compressed a little but not much. I don't have the engine in so when I jack up the lower control arm , it lifts the truck up. I put a spring compressers on & compressed the spring . The lower & uper control arms are hanhing down & not at all level with floor. The bottom of the springis not seated in the lower control arm sockit because of the angle of the control arm. Should I have compressed the spring first, then make the control arm level with the floor, then installed the spring, then the spindle?
