66 PONTIAC LEMANS CONVERTIBLE 326 W-AC1966 Pontiac LEMANS |

First off I am trying to restore what my parents started about 10 years ago and never finished on a car they bought new in 66. Their restorer however was merely a mechanic, only put parts on or in the car and wasn't concerned about matching anything. I.E. the spark plug wires are about a foot plus longer than they should be. The wiring harness in the engine compartment has been redone by replacing individual wires not necessarily matching the old ones. The fuel filter is zip tied in place.
I have taken the engine compartment totally apart thinking the manual I bought would help me put things back together. Come to find out the original Pontiac Manual refers to another manual for the factory installed AC. Does anyone have an AC Manual they would like to share or sell? I can't find one on line or anywhere else.
The 326 engine apparently came with spark plug wire holders mounted to the rear of the engine, where do they go?
What gets rapped around the engine wires that clip into the wire clips on the valve cover? If I use electric tape which is what is on the wires now, I'm afraid it will melt.
I need to know how to reinstall the heater components. I took them out before I realized I needed to document everything, because the heater coil was leaking antifreeze all over the new carpet.
This car came with 2 fuel lines. From what I can find out, one line is a return and it appears the only cars with a return had AC (remember this is not a GTO, that return comes from the carberator, the Lemans 2 bbl does not have that return). What is it returning from? Right know it stops as it comes into the engine compartment. Someone cut the fuel line, put a screw in it and a hose clamp to hold the screw in place.
There is a plat that runs across the back from tail light to tail light about 3 1/2 inches wide with "P O N T I A C" across the middle. I can't get it re-chromed because it is pitted too bad. Can this be replaced?
Thanks in advance for anyone's and everyone's help!
Regards,
JR
