1971 El Camino 1971 Chevrolet EL CAMINO

I have the VIN # for a 71 El Camino. The car has SS emblems on the sides and front grille. However, the VIN # is 136801B110002 and everything I have read indicates that this VIN # doesn't match the codes used for an original SS. Can you confirm that it is an SS via the VIN #? Also, I know some of the "keys" to look for but haven't been able to look under the hood. It does have the induction hood. I would love to purchase this vehicle but want to be sure I know what I am getting since I am by no means an expert. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Great web site by the way. Kevin
