1974 VW Super Beetle Sun Bug Edition
I purchased the car in May from a broker and corresponded with the single, original owner. I have the full file of all her receipts and mine as well as the original owner\'s manual, service booklets, window sticker and some Sunbug original goodies such as the original shifter knob and lady bug emblem which could be mounted on the engine hood grill. Over the past 9 months, I invested many of my own hours and also engaged several VW specialists in giving the car a mechanical, interior and body/bumper refresh. Refinishing Removed and repainted the front sway bar, control arms, front strut springs and cartridges, several underside front end panels, front and rear bumpers, support hardware, muffler (painted with high temp paint while installed) engine tin, and pulley. Touched up a few paint chips on the door sills, running boards, and body. Glass beaded and repainted the wheels (tires off) and spare. Repainted the wiper arms, fresh air box, original jack and tools. Parts Replaced/Added Trunk liner (custom made commercial grade, low weave carpet), sway bar bushings, ball joints, steering dampener, strut cartridges, mounting brackets, rubber spacers, covers, after market German tower mounted stress/sway bar, new front EMPI disk brakes, races, wheel bearings, rear shocks, points, plugs condenser, coil, restored original carburetor, plug wires, guides, v belt, fuel pump, battery, horn ring, horn, wiper switch, turn signal switch and relay, fuses, fresh air blower (used), new blower switch, new radio antenna, drivers seat OEM padding, passenger side window regulator rosewood window cranks (also have new originals), coat hooks and Wolfsburg emblem rosewood shifter knob, shifter bushing, EMPI quick shift short throw kit, new passenger running board, passenger side rear view mirror, polished fresh air vent grill and new wipers. New Spares Distributor, electronic ignition module, Mexican style OEM Beetle muffler, windshield wiper motor, EMPI degree pulley, dimmer relay, windshield washer pump motor and reservoir, fuel filters, spark plugs, points, condensers, EMPI high performance valve adjustment bolts and jam nuts, valve cover gaskets, EMPI Carburetor (cleaned and slightly used), heater pipe hose, rear brake shoes, rear brake slave cylinders and brake hardware, wheel center caps, door panel clips and boots. Extras Sheep skin seat covers, J bar steering wheel and wheel locks, new timing light with tach, dwell, and other features, single stage touch up paint-English Color, original tools, case, jack, belt, bulbs, fuses, dial air gauge, jumper cables, fire extinguisher and windshield sun shield
