County Cruisers |
| The Country Cruisers Car Club was established in 1992 by a group of local car buffs, who got together and hosted a car show. Now, 19 years later, the club is still going strong and having a great time with our cars!
Every year, we host a three day weekend of car events in Manchester, Iowa. On Friday night, we co-hosted a show & shine at Corcoran Furniture. This year we had 65 cars registered, but many more were parked on the streets. On Saturday night, we hosted one of the largest cruises in Northeast Iowa. Line-up was at E-Z Pickin’s convenience store, just off Highway 20, and we left at 5:30pm. We estimated there to be about 375 cars jumping in and out of the cruise. We saw families sitting outside and watching the cruise go by and many had made signs too. On Sunday, we had our car show at the Delaware County Fairgrounds with 125 participants. Our show has a separate class for the cars belonging to our members. We have gotten some exceptionally nice cars at our show.
Behind all of this is our desire to raise money for local charities.Each year we sponsor a raffle to help support these charities. This year we donated to Special Olympics, Operation Santa Claus, and our local food pantry. New this year was a scholarship being awarded to a West Delaware student who is pursuing a career in an automotive field. |
