Side or rear exhaust?

I want the vehicle to cruise low and sound nice. Plans for mini-tubing places me in an exhausting delema. Modify the lower body panel and run side exiting dumps just infront of the rear wheel or modify the gas tank for rear exhaust ???

What do you think?

I have never been one to have the exhaust out the side, so I would go with the rear exhaust!  However, I know that is more expensive, so I would start with what hits you less in the pocket book?
Sweet ride!
