Running hot

August 6th, 2011 11:20:24 am, posted by Mark Henning

First, lets start simple, try to add an external "gauge " to see if it is in fact hot, that way you can rule out the fact your "dummy gauge" is accurate, if in fact it is running hot, use a infra red temp gauge (you can get one at harbor freight) and start measuring external things, is one radiator hose hotter than he other, or both about the same? the upper should be hot, the lower cooler, if they're both the same temp, or one really hot while ones really cool I'd look at the Radiator, I would still wanna make sure the gauge is accurate though before throwing parts at it. Wouldn't wanna put $500.00 in to it to find the $50.00 gauge is not accurate. Mark
