door panel

September 11th, 2010 05:40:18 pm, posted by Mark Henning

Well, if it's like most older Fords, make sure there isn't a hidden screw or screws burried in the panel material. If that all seems good, Ford used metal clips to secure the panel, they resemble bent bobby hair pins. The problem with this is not the clips, but the door panel itself, dry and brittle. many tool companys make a door clip panel tool that will fit nicely under said clips, I would recomend wrapping the tool in tape though so you can protect the door paint finish. Start by tugging gently on the panel to locate the clips, then you can gently install the tool under the clips, with a bit of a pry and tug, you should be able to dislodge the clips! Please be aware, you may tear the panel backing.. It can be repaired by glue etc, once the panel is off. Mark
