Sounds like you've covered the basics. My thought would be fuel delivery at this point. Fuel p.s.i. Usually 6-7 p.s.i. on a carbed engine. Clogged fuel filter? Or..... I have seen older vehicles with original fuel tanks that have had rust/scale build up in the tanks. It will flake off, Cause havic in the small lines under pressure. You might want to safely install a fuel pressure gauge in between the fuel line and carb, and fashion it in a way you can safely see it while driving. This will at least enable you to watch the pressure under normal and W.O.T. applications to either condem it, or rule it out. Cheap, and easy!
