Springs

April 3rd, 2010 03:54:05 am, posted by Darren Short

It depends on how much you raise the rear and the reason.  If the rear is low due to sagged springs, the best option would of course be new springs.  You can also achieve some lift with longer rear spring shackles.

The front can be lowered with drop springs which should be available from a number of suppliers in a variety of spring rates.  You could also try the old school method of cutting coils.  If you go this route, start by cutting less than you think you need.  For example, start by cutting 1/4 coil at a time until you achieve the desired ride height.  Just be careful and use a good spring compressor when removing and installing the springs.

Hope this helps.
