QQ Registration in NJ1969 Chevrolet CORVETTE |
July 21st, 2014 10:05:36 am, posted by George Vit |
Hello everyone I have been a classic car owner since 1995 and had QQ tags on my car. I recently sold the car and purchased a 1969 Corvette, I went to our local DMV to transfer ownership and register the car, our local DMV is located in Rio Grande NJ I live in Cape May. The agent at the DMV informed me that he could not transfer the QQ tags to my car because the only agency in NJ that could handle it was located in Manihawkin NJ.This agency is over one hour drive for me, why should I have to drive that far to register a car. As you know the QQ tag registration is free where regular tags are not. I had to purchase regular tags instead of transfering my QQ tags. If you are renewing your QQ tags for the same car then you are ok if you purchase another car and want to transfer them your screwed.
Classic car owners are voters to. This affects all of use so please take a minute and send our governor an email (go to google search for our governor) a form is available on his web site for emails. The bottem line is all DMV offices should be able to handle QQ tag transfer and registrations. NJ does not want QQ tags in the state because they are free. Live in NJ and get screwed.
