Jaguar Leaping Cat1987 Jaguar VANDEN PLAS |

I recently purchased a 1987 Jaguar vanden Plas but noticed it did not have the cat hood ornament. The owner of the car had the original showroom car 16 page pamplet which introduced the 87 jag (lot of models with big hair) with options and specs. Noticed that none of the photos had the cat, yet I've seen a few 87's for sale that do have the hood ornament. Was this something owners may have added later on their own or this considered a no-no in the Jaguar world. Also, noticed that different rims did not seem like an option then. I'm not crazy about the rims and an considering switching them down the road, even though there in great shape. Excited about my first Jag....can't wait till spring!!! Thanks for any help you can offer! Gary
