Greetings Car Brothers!
I have a question and its been a really long time since I sold a car privately. Unfortunately, I have to sell my 1966 . I live in CT but I purchased it from a dealer in NY back in 2003. I have all the NYS DMV "retail cert of sale" showing my purchase and all the lineage paperwork of prior ownership BUT, I didn't receive a registration or title, as I understand NYS and CT dont issue Titles for cars from the 1960's.
I never registered the car myself in CT. I live in CT. So, as I have heard, all I need to sell is the documentation that I have and prepare a Bill of Sale to whoever buys it. Is that correct or I am I missing something? Can someone walk me through this?. Do you know how all this works? I hate to have to deal with the DMV for answers and loose a working days pay doing it and most likely be more confused and FUBAR! Life is too short :-) Thanks so much.
Keep'em Rolling!
