1948 Chrysler Traveller
1948 Chrysler Traveler A rare and beautiful example of Chrysler post war emergence as a style leader. The Traveler was and still is a head turner everywhere it goes. A 1985 Frame-off restoration in the original Catalina Tan and Rossini Brown. Only 4,182 were ever built from 1947 through 1949 and we understand that only 12 remain today. This car has 106,800 miles on it since new. The interior is original leather , some seam separation have happened on the front seat. The laminated oak luggage rack often neglected is particularly well preserved and was built by the Cris Craft boat company for Chrysler. Rear extras include the “Cow Catcher” addition to the front bumper and the front sun visor and twin fog lamps. The 250 cubic inch “Spitfire” six cylinder engine puts out 114 hp and runs quiet and smooth. Plenty of power, this ultra dependable engine was manufactured from 1937 through the early 1950’s virtually unchanged so parts are easy to find. Chrysler’s famous semi-automatic fluid drive transmission makes it easy and simple to drive. Near new tires, spare and battery. Original owners manual and car cover included.
