$500 to the First Place Winner!!!!

Second, we are still looking for Calendar Girls.  I have posted the most recent submissions here, but need at least 12 to make the calendar.  So, get out there, ask the ladies to stand by your car and strike a pose!  Send your submission here!
First place wins the cover of the Calendar and $1000!!!!  Submissions will be accepted until June 15th and be seen in the 2009 calendar.

Third, the Classic Car Encyclopedia is here...almost!  The pages are created and they are ready to rock.  I have only added 9-10 cars, but am feverishly adding more as the days go by.  If you want to see your car added first, shoot me an email and I will start with yours.  Also, if there is anything else you want to see listed there, let me know!  Send your note here!

Finally, the dynamic advertising is completed!  "Dynamic who, what now?"  If you have a service or product to sell, we have created the site to only direct your company to members who are looking for your product.  For example, click on <Classified Parts> and put in "decal" in the keyword field.  You will notice that the Phoenix Graphix logo will populate.  So, even though there are no members selling decals, Phoenix Graphix will fill your order!  Pretty nice huh?  Also, the product/service will be shown under the <Services> section.  Here, if you are able to provide national service, your information will be displayed again.  If you provide statewide service, then you will be seen in only your state of operation.  And finally, if you operate citywide, then your information will be populated in your city.  So, if you know anyone who would like to join the effort, please let me know.

Piles of Books!
The other day I was at my parent's house looking for this specific book I had when I was a teenager.  It was a book that showed every car made from 1945 to 1972.  It had the stats, production numbers, and options of every vehicle out there...everything!  So, while I was looking, my dad said he had all the other books we collected years ago.  I have 15 different books about the classic car.  Everything from classic convertibles to Italian exotics.
So, if you have any questions about your car, shoot me an email.
Also, all this information will be posted under my Encyclopedia, sooner or later....probably later.  This stuff takes time people!

1,000,000 Miles
I was watching the tube the other night and an interesting story came on the news.  Apparently there is a guy out there that claims he put 1,000,000 miles on his 1991 Silverado Pick up truck.  So, I jumped on Google and searched for this story.  To my amazement, I found other stories about cars reaching one million miles.  There is a 1989 Saab, a 1997 Ford F-250, a 1995 Honda Civic and then this Chevy.  I did the math, the '89 Saab did 52,000 miles a year, '91 Chevy did 62,500 miles a year, '95 Honda did 83,000 miles a year and the '97 Ford did about 90,000 miles a year.  I have one question for all those people, where the hell do you have to go?  A normal year of driving is 15,000 miles a year.  If you drive a long way to work, maybe 30,000 to 40,000 a year.  Unless you are driving a big rig across the country, how is it possible to rack up 90,000 miles a year?  I live in AZ and if I drove around the state, about 300 miles day, 5 days week, for the whole year, that would be 78,000 miles.  So, what job could possibly take you that far?  Even if I was a UPS delivery man and drove...no, if I was Hertz and 260 people drove the same car in one year 300 miles a day, it's still not 90,000 miles.  Would somebody explain to me how one person can drive that much?  I don't even like getting my mail at the end of the street, let alone drive 300 miles a day.  If you gave $1 per mile driven, then maybe, just maybe, I would drive the heck out of my car.  1,000,000 miles......1 million freakin' miles!  I'm sorry, but if this were Scrabble, I would have to challenge that.  And the guy lives in Wisconsin!  SNOW! He bought the truck in 1996 with 41,000 miles on it and has put 85,000 miles a year since then.  Would someone please tell me how this is possible?  And how fast was he going?  If your speed was a constant 100 mph, then maybe you can drive that much.  I don't know.  Let me know what you think!

So there you have it.  I hope you have enjoyed this Newsletter.
If not let me know.  And don't just say "You Stink!"
Tell me why I stink.
