I love classic cars.
You know the type of cars I’m talking about. These muscled-up and souped-up classic cars are the kind you would have found cruising Edmond streets years ago.
If you’re like me, crazy about classic cars, you’ll love the Route 66 Classics in the Park this Saturday to benefit Edmond Family Counseling.
This annual event attracts hundreds of classic car owners from Kansas, Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Owners can compete in a variety of car categories including Model A open class, muscle cars, street rods, kit cars and modified custom cars.
More than 70 trophies will be awarded and $200 will be given to the car club with the most pre-registered entries. In addition to the cars, there is a craft fair, music and food.
The Route 66 Classics in the Park is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at E.C. Hafer Park at Ninth Street and Bryant Avenue. For more information, call 341-3554.
The event is free.
Edmond Family Counseling has been around for 33 years and is a nonprofit agency that depends on donations and events such as the car show to help them provide services to the Edmond community.
